Under the initiative “Research to Rise,” the Metropolitan University Research Society (MURS) successfully organized an insightful live online workshop titled “Innovation Through Research: A Pathway to Higher Education and Scholarships” on January 14, 2026, through Google Meet. The workshop aimed to inspire students and early-career researchers to explore how research and innovation can open doors to higher education opportunities and prestigious international scholarships.
The session was conducted by Md. Enayet Chowdhury, Assistant Professor (On Leave), Institute of Water and Flood Management, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). Drawing from his academic and professional experiences, he shared valuable guidance on the importance of research in shaping academic careers and building globally competitive profiles for higher studies.
Throughout the workshop, participants gained practical insights into developing strong research skills, selecting meaningful research areas, preparing academic portfolios, and aligning research interests with international opportunities and scholarship prospects. The speaker also emphasized the significance of innovation, consistency, networking, and interdisciplinary collaboration in achieving success in research-driven academic pathways.
The interactive nature of the session encouraged active participation, thoughtful discussions, and knowledge-sharing among attendees. Students had the opportunity to ask questions, seek mentorship-oriented advice, and better understand how research can become a powerful tool for personal growth, academic excellence, and global opportunities. E-certificates were awarded to all participants in recognition of their active engagement and participation in the workshop.
